The St Joseph school clinic is a state of the art facility with equipment for all medical emergencies that may arise. It has been approved by the Ministry of Health, Abu Dhabi and in service with a full-time nurse provided by Burjeel Hospital.
The trained nurse works closely with the Ministry of Health to ensure that the highest standards are maintained.
First aid is given to all the students who report as ill or a minor accident and parents are informed immediately.
It is the parent’s responsibility to inform the school if their child is suffering from any diseases or on any medication and to give full detailed information in the Medical Data Form in the Student’s Hand Book.
Medical checkups and immunization are done periodically and complete records are maintained. SEHA Nurses visit the school yearly to vaccinate the students.
The school library, equipped with a rich collection of educational materials is located at the first floor of the school. There are ample collections of books, reference materials, newspapers, periodicals, audio and visual materials and professional journals for teachers. The St. Joseph’s School library service supports the school’s mission and the educational and recreational needs of students and staff. The library service is committed to the development of independent learners able to locate, retrieve, assess and utilize information with library skills. The library is open from 7.30am – 1.30pm. on school days.
The computer laboratory has 15 laptops and 21 desktops updated with the latest software and other course requirements. The use of information technology has radically changed the way our students learn – allowing them the opportunity to develop skills and competencies in a variety of ways and help prepare them for the future.
The teaching emphasis for science is firmly placed on experimentation and investigation, using scientific skills, processes and knowledge to solve problems. To support this approach the school has 3 purposes built, fully equipped science laboratories.
