OUR VISION

“What makes our university stand out is a clear vision to offer a good value UK education that is more personal, relevant, and business-focused. We’re also passionately committed to improving what we do every day, and are open to fresh ideas and new ways of doing things. As an institution we must always move forward.”
– Professor John Coyne, Vice-Chancellor
The University of Derby has its origins in various educational institutions across Derbyshire, dating back to 1851. We gained university status in 1992 and celebrated 20 years in 2012.

Principal’s message

“Shine where you are! This motto is a guiding force in St. Joseph’s School. Our purpose is to enable the students to be what God wants them to be and to achieve what God wants them to achieve.

We strive to imbibe in the minds of today’s youngsters, a mind rich in gems of inestimable value. The school helps to reveal the marvels and treasures of their minds and spirit by conducting competitions like creative writing, recitation competition, debates on world issues, environment drives, School Services, field trips, aimed at creating self discipline and amity. Our children reflect the spirit and we are proud of them.

We strive to build values in our students so that they can go out in the world as socially responsible global citizens who stand up and be counted upon for making of a better world.

Our deepest gratitude goes to out manager His Excellency Bishop Paul Hinder, our fine and dedicated teachers and parents. My wish is – May everyone develop a desire for goodness, an eagerness for knowledge, a capacity for friendship, an appreciation for Beauty and concern for others.”

Best Wishes!

Sister Carmen.
